DESCRIPTION                    

The need for skilled report writing and presentation skills has increased in the last 20 years. Institutions increasingly seek training for their staff, however, effective writing skills are not only necessary for professionals and alike; these skills are critical in any technically-oriented professional job. Effective communications—or writing—is not writing about a specific technical topic, but about any technical topic. This means the clarity or clear message should reach the subordinate  using the presentation of the report.

Effective communication expected to express ourselves, both verbally and non-verbally, in ways that are appropriate to our cultures and situations. This means not only being able to express our opinions and desires, but also our needs and fears and to ask for advice and help. One of the challenges in writing skills is to do so in a way that a non-specialist could understand.

“No matter how good or important message is, if it is not delivered in interesting and effective way, chances are it wont be heard at all. Strong presentation skills can advance a career while pour speaking skills can ground a rising star”.

 COURSE OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES

The “Effective Report Writing Skills”  and “Presentation Skills” aims at imparting participants with cutting edge report writing skills which will enable them to produce effective reports. This programme trains people to write concise, easy-to-read and professional technical and general reports for any     context. Participants will apply the skills practically throughout, and should ideally use examples of their own job related reports, to ensure application in their work and achievement of individually required outcomes.

At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to structure a presentation, establish credibility with the audience, select appropriate style for the presentation, deal confidently with difficult situations and people, involving posing and taking questions, develop successful strategies for co-presenting, presenting at internal and external board meetings, and at councils/committees and use a range of technology and visual aids.

 TARGET group

This workshop is suitable for middle to senior cadre officers whose roles demand effective communication through reports to management and board level. Officials from both private and public sectors are highly recommended to attend.

 

 

 

DELIVERY METHODOLOGY

The seminar will be conducted via Power Point presentations, analyses of short case studies, discussion and writing action plan exercises.

Lengo la mafunzo haya ni kuwapa washiriki maarifa,mbinu na uzoefu wa jinsi ya kujiandaa vema na maisha baada ya kustaafu. Tafiti mbalimbali zimebaini kuwa wastaafu wengi hukumbwa na  misukosuko mingi ya kifedha, kiafya na kimaisha kwa ujumla. Moja kati ya sababu kubwa  ya wastaafu kukumbwa na misukosuko hiyo na kushindwa kuihimili vema ni kutokuwa na mipango madhubuti ya maisha baada ya kustaafu kazi.

Mafunzo ya Kujiandaa na Maisha Baada ya Kustaafu Kazi   yamelenga     kumwezesha mfanyakazi kuanza mapema kuandaa mpango binafsi wa kujiandaa kustaafu.   Mafunzo pia yatatoa fursa  kwa washiriki                  kubadilishana ufahamu na uzoefu     kutokana na  mazingira watokayo.

Malengo mahsusi ya mafunzo haya ni:-

Workshop Overview

An effective induction is essential for new board members if they are to maximize their contribution within a reasonably short time scale.  Boards are also being required to go much further than just blindly applying principles and recommendations – since these do not guarantee an effective board.
