Workshop description

TaGLA has organized the course on Fraud, Investigation and Prevention for Top Managers with the aim of equipping them with the necessary skills in understanding and tackling fraud menace.

Fraud is one of the most expensive crimes endured by millions of people in the world consumers today is fraud.  These days, it's hard to escape the ‘vulture’ as scams will find you anywhere - on internet, at the car dealership and certainly in the streets.  Poignantly, criminals who commit fraud have no personal preference.  They victimize the youth, senior citizens, police departments, tax administrations, financial institutions, ports, prevention bureaus and large corporations alike.  It is crucial to understand why even you can be negatively impacted by this rapid moving crime wave.

Workshop Objectives:

Participants will be able to establish continuous monitoring and auditing to maximise effectiveness of fraud control within the organization, assessing fraud prevention strategies towards maintaining business integrity and shareholders’ confidence, protecting against business risks through assessing fraud opportunities, mapping a fraud and corruption internal control program to ensure fraud control systems are in place  and improving the ethical conduct within the organization through proper implementation of fraud control frameworks.

Target Group:

Law enforcement agents, Lead Investigative Officers, Criminal Investigators, Investigative Journalists and Crime fighters both in the public and private sectors. Specifically, the course is ideal for PCCB, Police Department, Financial Institutions, Fire Department, Tax Administration, Auditors, Ports Authorities, ICT units, procurement units and security organizations.
