OVERVIEW:

Failures of oil and gas Governance can have far-reaching implications for the economy, social development and political stability. By the same token, good governance of the sector will increase national wealth, sustainable development and social stability. These benefits are more likely to be achieved if all stakeholders share an understanding of what good governance requires in practice.

This five day practical training aims to address key issues and discuss best practices that include Policy, Legal and Regulatory issues within the Oil and Gas sector and how Tanzania may benefit from Oil and Gas discoveries. This course employs a combination of instructor led sessions, case studies, group exercises, scenarios and discussions.

Tanzania Global Learning Agency has organized training on International Public Sector Accounting Standards, Financial Statements Fraud and Governance Workshop. For sometimes now, there has been increasing pressure for governments around the world to be more accountable for their public budgets with governments and to produce accurate, meaningful and transparent financial statements. International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) enable public entities to show clear accrual accounting and budgeting techniques and demonstrate results-based monitoring and reporting.

Workshop Objective: -

This workshop will provide the comprehensive understanding of applying IPSAS from the IASB’s IFRS standards to the framework of public bodies and enable participants to increase transparency. We will conduct discussions on how to overcome the challenges faced by other entities in implementing IPSAS. The workshop will also cover aspects on financial statement fraud detection and prevention as well as appreciating the role of risk management system in improving organisational management system.

 

Methodology and Duration of the Program

The duration of the program is 5 days. Training Methodology will be based on Power point presentations and plenary sessions.

Role play’s; Assessment exercises- pre and post sessions tests at the start and the end of each Module, to check the level of knowledge of participants on the topic before and after the training.
